Mon Ricin wins on Arc weekend at Longchamp!
It was another memorable weekend’s racing in France, as Mon Ricin landed a fine victory in the Prix de la Place des Vosges at Longchamp during the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe meeting.
The six-year-old was winning for the second time in three starts since being claimed for just €11,520 in late July for owner Will Sangwin of Sangwin Bloodstock. The first prize of €52,200 was yet another big pot this season for Will, who has enjoyed an incredible year with his horses on the track in France.
Trainer Tim Donworth has undoubtedly found plenty of improvement from the son of Prince Gibraltar, who continues to progress with each run. Mon Ricin looks a natural to go jumping in due course, with the prestigious Prix Rohan at Auteuil already under consideration for early next year.
For now, we’ll simply enjoy this win – a great reward for an astute claim and some top-class training!
It also feels particularly satisfying to have now claimed horses to win on both Grand Steeple-Chase day at Auteuil (Hamandio) and on Arc weekend in the same year – a pretty memorable double!
