French purchase Mary’s Fortune bolted up on her UK debut in a maiden point at Great Trethew on Sunday, providing 16-year-old Ed Vaughan with his first winner between the flags.

A multiple pony racing champion rider, both in the UK and Ireland, Ed’s first winner was swiftly followed by two more on the same card!

A useful maiden hurdler/chaser in her native France, Mary’s Fortune was purchased for Ed to ride in point to points, but the five-year-old daughter of Soldier Of Fortune has the potential to develop into a smart performer on the racecourse and that is the plan with her in due course.
