Class 2 win for smart Arqana purchase Laith

 In News

Laith moved past the €100,000 prize-money mark for the season with an impressive, all-the-way success in class 2 company at Dax yesterday in the hands of Valentin Seguy.

The €67,000 Arqana Autumn Sale purchase has proved a money-spinner for owner Will Sangwin, with the three year old son of Zelzal winning for the third time in 2025, following a maiden success at Cagnes-sur-Mer in January and an impressive, valuable handicap victory at Longchamp last month.

He showed plenty of speed to get to the front from his wide draw and put the race to bed in a matter of strides in the home straight, with his rider able to take it very easy in the closing stages.  He continues to progress and is another fine advertisement for trainer Jerome Reynier, who is enjoying another excellent season.

The colt holds an entry in the Group 3 Paul de Moussac back at Longchamp in early June and we will certainly take a good look at that race, as he looks capable of making his mark at a higher level.
