Cheltenham success for French purchase Zurich!

Zurich took another big step forward on his second run of the season with an impressive victory in the novice handicap chase at Cheltenham yesterday.

The son of Doctor Dino, who was purchased following a win in a claiming hurdle at Pau, had won on his reappearance at Killarney earlier in the month and defied the 7lbs rise in a very competitive contest, travelling strongly and jumping fluently en route to a ready success in the hands of Darragh O’Keeffe.

The Pimlico Racing-owned seven year old will likely be campaigned with a return to the Festival in mind and there looks to be a couple of suitable options for him shortly before Christmas.  At his best on better ground, he will likely then have a break before heading straight to Cheltenham in March, with several other possibilities in what could be an exciting spring campaign!  Many congratulations to all involved.
