Black type for french recruit Pastorale

 In News

Pastorale, claimed for €19,500 at Pau in January, is fast making up into a smart young novice over hurdles and she gained black type at Thurles yesterday, on just her second start in Ireland for Henry de Bromhead.

The daughter of the late Pastorius, who is greatly missed from the rank of National Hunt sires in France, is a half-sister to the high-class Graded chaser Metasequoia, who unseated when fancied for the French Gold Cup in May, and this Listed placing will certainly do her future paddock value no harm at all for her syndicate owners, Pimlico Racing.

She was the only four year old to finish in the first four, was the least experienced in the field and the only one to make ground up from off the pace, so there are plenty of reasons to think she can build on this in the season ahead.  She’s a tremendously exciting prospect for her owners.
