A Riviera winner at Cagnes
It was fantastic to see Arqana Autumn Sale purchase Laith make a winning start for owners Sangwin Holdings at Cagnes earlier today, producing a taking turn of foot to shed his maiden tag on his first outing for trainer Jerome Reynier.
Given a patient ride by Champion jockey Maxime Guyon, the son of Zelzal quickened well to get his head in front in a competitive maiden contest, worth €20,000 to the winner when including the French Owners’ Premiums.
He has options in class 2 and class 1 company for his next start, which will be back at Cagnes towards the end of this month, or in early February. Looking further ahead, he looks a very bright prospect for his owners, who are enjoying a fine run with their team in France.
