Somerville Sale purchase joins Karl Burke

Will Sangwin of Sangwin Bloodstock added a high-class prospect to his team at the Tattersalls Somerville Sale, securing a beautifully-bred Dark Angel filly out of the Group 3-placed mare Seafront, from the Yeomanstown Stud draft.

She boasts quite a pedigree, being a full sister to black-type performers Diabolic and McManaman, and out of the Group 3 runner-up Seafront.

She will be broken in by Chris and Claire Bonner before joining Karl Burke’s yard, where she looks set to develop into an exciting prospect for 2026. On pedigree and physique, she looks an early type who could make up into a smart juvenile next year.

The first two year old we had with Karl was Antonin Dvorak, who was purchased for 16,000gns, won twice from three starts and sold for 220,000gns last autumn, so hopefully this filly can follow in his footsteps!
