Dear Weaver and Melbora strike again

 In Nathaniel Barnett Bloodstock News

Dear Weaver continues on an upward curve, the five year old following up her recent win at Strasbourg with a fine success in a €53,000 handicap hurdle at Dieppe under another excellent ride from Gabin Meunier.

Sent straight into the lead, the daughter of Sumbal never saw another rival and came home with plenty to spare in what had looked a competitive handicap hurdle.  She is now likely to switch attentions to chasing and looks sure to make a bold bid for the hat-trick next time for her owner Sangwin Bloodstock.

Melbora is another mare, bought from a claimer for Will Sangwin, that has enjoyed a wonderful year and she brought her prize-money winnings past the €100,000 mark in 12 months with a typically gutsy win at La Teste under Cristian Demuro, who gets on so well with her.  A 2.5kg mark will push her into Quinte handicaps, but she remains fairly treated and could have her say in a big race this year.
